Environmental Law
Production facilities, like products, are subject to many environmental regulations.
In environment law on production facilities, our emphasis is on acting in emission law licensing especially for production enterprises and energy generation. Nature protection (Fauna Flora Habitat Directive) and EU emission trading are not only increasingly important. The initiated energy conversion can only succeed with new wind and solar parks, biomass power plants, geothermal plants and hydro-electric plants – but also demands the legal enforcement of storage facilities (e.g., pumped storage power plants or CO2 storage). The sins of the past are reflected in soil protection law where we work on legal issues in the course of the clean-up of the greatest old contamination in Baden-Württemberg. Other important elements in our advice on facility-related environment law are water law and recycling and disposal of waste.
We have also built-up in-depth public law know-how in product-related environmental law. We advise manufacturers and distribution companies on the Battery Act and the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act in order to ensure environmentally tolerable disposal. That includes comprehensive registration, notification, labelling and reporting obligations but also the defence against exaggerated official regulations. We advise thereon comprehensively just as in the registration and approval of chemicals (REACH), the classification, marking and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP Regulation) and on product safety law.
