EUWA advised on sale to Grundfos by OPPENLÄNDER Rechtsanwälte

OPPENLÄNDER Rechtsanwälte has provided legal advice to the shareholder of Germany-based water treatment specialist EUWA on the sale of its shares to Danish pump and water technology group Grundfos. EUWA is a leading provider of water treatment solutions for the brewery and beverage industry, with installations in more than 110 countries, and has outstanding technological and engineering expertise along the entire pure water cycle.

With this transaction, Grundfos strengthens its water treatment division and continues its strategic focus on consistently expanding its water treatment business and further enhancing its expertise in this area. The acquisition also highlights the growing importance of reliable, sustainable and efficient water treatment solutions for the beverage industry against the backdrop of increasing challenges in water supply.

On the seller side, the transaction was led by OPPENLÄNDER partner Dr. Felix Born and associated partner Julia Sauter, LL.M., who provided legal advice. Dr. Felix Born is an experienced transaction and corporate lawyer with many years of international advisory experience in national and cross-border M&A projects and particular expertise in corporate acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures as well as stock corporation and capital markets law issues. Julia Sauter advises on corporate law with a focus on corporate transactions, and has particular experience in M&A projects, including advising on the acquisition and disposal of companies and shareholdings as well as on contentious disputes arising in a transaction context. The team was complemented by two partners from OPPENLÄNDER: Dr. Christian Gunßer (Real Estate) and Dr. Malte Weitner (IP).

OPPENLÄNDER wins lawsuit regarding claims for damages arising from pharmaceutical rebate contracts

Dr Matthias Ulshöfer and Dr Joachim Ott have successfully defended an international pharmaceutical company against unjustified claims for damages arising from pharmaceutical rebate contracts in a landmark case before the Munich Social Court. The actions brought by a major statutory health insurance fund were dismissed by way of a “judgment from the bench”.
