Prof. Dr. Christofer Lenz and Dr. Maximilian Gerhold successfully defended the Saarland state parliament against a constitutional complaint filed by an AfD member of parliament regarding the functional allowances for parliamentary secretaries and deputy faction leaders.
OPPENLÄNDER Rechtsanwälte has once again won a case for a constitutional body. Prof. Dr. Christofer Lenz and Dr. Maximilian Gerhold were successful before the Constitutional Court of Saarland on behalf of the state parliament there. The Constitutional Court accepted OPPENLÄNDER’s argument and dismissed the motion filed by an AfD member of parliament against the legal requirements for granting functional allowances as inadmissible. Specifically, the case concerned the possibility for parliamentary groups to pay allowances to their parliamentary secretaries and deputy group chairpersons.
OPPENLÄNDER Rechtsanwälte regularly acts before constitutional courts on behalf of state authorities, representing state governments, state parliaments, and their presidents.
