OPPENLÄNDER wins for CDU national association

OPPENLÄNDER, through its attorneys Prof. Dr. Christofer Lenz and Dr. Raphael Höll, successfully represented the CDU national association before the Berlin Regional Court and obtained the dismissal of an action directed against resolutions of the CDU federal executive board.

As before the Federal Party Court of the CDU, the case concerned decisions of the CDU National Executive Committee to invite the President of the CDU Economic Council as a guest to the meetings of the National Executive Committee. In doing so, the Federal Executive Board acted within the scope of its freedom of decision under the Political Parties Act and the CDU statutes. The complaint supported by a lobby association was inadmissible. The Federal Party Court of the CDU had already pointed out the decisive legal differences between guest status and membership of the Executive Board.
