Success for the Free State of Saxony

In two decisions dated March 24, 2021, the Constitutional Court of the Free State of Saxony unanimously rejected abstract norm control applications against individual provisions of the 2019/2020 Budget Act of the Saxon State Parliament.

The reasoning largely follows the presentation made by OPPENLÄNDER Rechtsanwälte for the Saxon State Government in the proceedings. OPPENLÄNDER partner Prof. Dr. Christofer Lenz, who is leading the proceedings, regularly conducts proceedings before constitutional courts of the federal states and the federal government. He is a commentator on the Law on the Federal Constitutional Court and a member of the Constitutional Law Committee of the Federal Bar Association.
