Expertise
In energy law, Malte Weitner advises electricity and gas network operators, energy supply companies (electricity, gas, distance heating), plant operators, but also industrial end consumers. He has particular experience in advising on long-term supply contracts, infrastructure pricing, individual network fees, distance heating and eMobility. A large part of his energy law practice is concerned with disputes between players on the energy market, including regulatory law proceedings against the Federal Network Agency. He can rely on his experience in litigation in this.
His second focus is on dispute resolution. Malte Weitner represents his clients both before state courts as well as in arbitration. He is as competent in complex disputes as in the management of group proceedings. Malte Weitner has already obtained experience before many regional and higher regional courts, the Federal Court of Justice and the ECJ. Apart from energy law disputes, his work concentrates on general contractual disputes, state liability and product liability as well as competition and trademark disputes. Malte Weitner always keeps the possibility of out-of-court settlements and the effects on other legal and commercial situations of his clients in view. His experience also extends to advising on press work accompanying such cases.
