Matthias Tratt advises on all areas of corporate law. Key areas include limited liability companies (GmbH), stock corporations (AG), partnerships and associations. He guides clients through acquisitions, disposals and corporate restructurings from initial concept to completion. In shareholder disputes, he develops robust solutions that balance commercial and personal interests.

A particular focus of his practice is succession in family-owned businesses. Matthias Tratt structures succession arrangements, wills and partnership agreements to ensure a legally sound generational transition. He combines corporate law and inheritance law into a coherent overall framework.
At the intersection of corporate and insolvency law, Matthias Tratt advises creditors, shareholders and corporate bodies in insolvency, debtor-in-possession and restructuring proceedings. He is a certified ESUG and StaRUG restructuring adviser (DIAI). He represents managing directors and board members against personal liability claims and supports turnarounds with a clear focus on his clients’ commercial objectives. As a lecturer at DHBW Stuttgart, he also teaches insolvency law in an academic setting.
