Dr. Simon Schmauder is team member of the antitrust team awarded by JUVE.

Simon Schmauder is an enthusiastic antitrust lawyer. Already during his studies and later at various stages of his practical training and during his one-year stay at the University of San Diego, he dealt intensively with antitrust law issues. He obtained his doctorate degree with a thesis on the “Abusive exploitation of SEPs subject to FRAND in US antitrust law”. Simon Schmauder has been a lawyer at OPPENLÄNDER since 2017.

Simon Schmauder passes on his enthusiasm for antitrust law to students as a lecturer at the University of Heidelberg. He is a member of the Antitrust Study Association (Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht), the Antitrust Law Section of the American Bar Association and the German-American Lawyers’ Association (DAJV).

Simon Schmauder advises on all aspects of German and European antitrust law, with a focus on merger control, cartel damages proceedings and the drafting of distribution, R&D and license agreements in compliance with antitrust law. Simon Schmauder also has in-depth knowledge of US antitrust law and US litigation.

Simon Schmauder has special industry knowledge in the areas of media, automotive, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, healthcare, consumer and industrial goods.
