Gas

Gas is one of the most important energy sources in Germany, both for heat generation and for numerous industrial processes in the manufacturing sector. Despite the ever-increasing focus on the heating transition and the reduction in gas consumption, gas will remain an important part of the energy supply. At the same time, hydrogen in all its forms – “green”, “turquoise”, “gray” or “blue” – is becoming increasingly important.

We advise on all regulatory issues relating to gas networks, in particular with regard to their pricing. We also support our clients with long-term supply contracts if they are in financial difficulties as a result of the current upheavals on the market.

Arbitration and court proceedings, including before the European Court of Justice, concerning the setting of reasonable prices are among our core capacities. Price abuse proceedings before the anti-trust courts, proceedings under § 315 Civil Code before civil courts or the making of price adjustment claims based on profitability or the destruction of the basis of the transaction, often play an important part in our practice.
