Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt a. M. (VGF) once again commissioned to provide public transport rail services

On 15 December 2023, the municipal council of the City of Frankfurt am Main decided to commission its municipal transport company, Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main (VGF), to provide public rail transport services for the City of Frankfurt am Main for a further 22.5 years. The new public service contract (“öDA Schiene”) will come into force on 1 January 2024 and will run until 2046, with VGF not only being entrusted with light rail and tram services as before, but also with maintaining the underground facilities. In this context, the tunnel assets were also transferred to VGF. Since 2019, we have supported the direct award procedure for the public transport organisation of the City of Frankfurt am Main, traffiQ Lokale Nahverkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt am Main mbH.
