OPPENLÄNDER advises Radeberger Fleisch- und Wurstwaren Korch GmbH on the acquisition of a majority stake in the Wein Group

The Hermann Wein Group, a family-owned company from Freudenstadt founded in 1966, specialises in the production of traditional Black Forest ham. As market leader, the company produces three million pieces of ham annually and employs around 330 people.

With more than 400 employees, Radeberger Fleisch- und Wurstwaren Korch GmbH produces and distributes meat and sausage products, especially under the well-known “Original Radeberger” brand. With its Original Radeberger ham made out of cured filet of pork (Lachsschinken), the company is the German market leader in this segment.

With the merger, both ham specialists are positioning themselves for the long term and the future and are taking an important step towards continuing to be successful in the market.

The majority shareholder of Radeberger Fleisch- und Wurstwaren Korch GmbH since 2022 is Rieker Investment GmbH. Rieker Investment GmbH is a company of the Rieker Finanz Group, which is backing the transaction. The Rieker Finanz Group is an independent part of the Rieker Group, which also includes the shoe manufacturer Rieker Schuh. The Rieker Finanz Group invests in medium-sized companies on a long-term basis and is open to all sectors. The investments are managed independently by the existing management.
